History
Emerald Isle for Veterans: Freedom Is Essential was formed in November 2023 after a Veterans Day event on the Island. We incorporated as a non-profit entity and recently achieved tax-deductible status as a 501C3.
We host a variety of local events and staff an EIV tent at area festivals throughout the year. Each event brings together our community & our veterans and allows us a chance to promote our message of patriotism in action and share our cause: locals supporting local Veterans in need
Impact
Our first event raised over $10,000. With the donations and funds raised, we were able to help two local Veterans with their specific needs. One who is paralyzed and needed basic needs met and the other who has PTSD and was in need of a service animal and treatment.
This April, we gifted funds to another Veteran in need as his 5-year-old child battles cancer. Our non-profit allows us to help our local Veterans remove obstacles in their way either by offering them financial aid or by educating them and connecting them with resources that we have available.
